The bus service to Atlantis is very reliable. They will charge you $10 a person if you take the resort bus to the grocery store. There is one in walking distance you can go to for free.
Basically you can get around the entire Resort via the shuttle buses. Just go to the main lobby every 15 - 20 minutes a bus will show up. If you don't know where the bus is going just ask the driver, a few time we took a bus heading to Coral Towers, the driver dropped us off at Harborside.
Other problem i has was i wanted to go to grocery store to stock up on items for the week and Harborside has a daily shuttle that leaves to go to supermarket. This was to save some money so we could eat in room. The resort charges you $10 for the shuttle which is fine BUT they take you not to downtown Nassau but to a very overpriced grocery store that is another tourist trap and 3x what you’d pay going to grocery store where locals shop. This was outrageous ans really annoyed me.
Fourth, we took advantage of the $7.00 shuttle ride to the grocery store on our first day....which was the most EXPENSIVE grocery store I've ever seen. $12.00/lb. for chicken breast... not even organic! Later, I mentioned this to one of the ladies in the casino shops while we were chatting and she said, "Oh, you went to Fresh Market on the island? Go over the bridge and go to the grocery store in downtown Nassau. It's much less expensive. Fresh Market is a tourist trap."
Avoid the shuttle and stop off at the grocery store in Nassau in your way from airport . I’ll do that next time or just take a cab.
Also, there is a 15% gratuity billed into every restaurant/counter food service
Be prepared for 10 to 15 min waits for shuttle or at least a 20 min walk to get to anywhere else in Atlantis
How far is the Harborside from the main resort and water park?
Harborside is about a 10 minute walk to the main casino and the water park. There is also a free Harborside shuttle that runs between Harborside and the Atlantis resort every 15 minutes.
a ferry service during the day that will shuttle you from Par. Island to Nassau for $3. The ferry can be taken from paradise island over to the straw market area.
To get groceries we walked over the more easterly bridge to the mainland. Then turned left and walked along bayside until we got to Solomons fresh market grocery store. They have products from around the world, better selection then some grocery stores in Toronto. Definitely a better selection of fruits and vegetables then we have found in Orlando Florida.
We received $125 cash for going on the 90 minute timeshare presentation. There was no pressure at all to buy
