Ride alongside another friend in a rubber tube on the Serpent Slide or the Falls or travel through caves and under trees on the Jungle Slide.
Book the Snorkel the Ruins program to swim alongside Atlantis’ marine life. The resort is home to more than 50,000 marine life, including sharks, sting rays and eels.
For low-cost, quick meals, check out the restaurants near the marina. Each night the deli and pizza place are popular because of their affordable offerings. Several restaurants, like Carmine's or the Virgil's BBQ, offer family-style meals, helping to keep a check lower.
Get a lay of the land
Atlantis Aquaventure opens at 9:00 am, and the water slides open at 10:00 am. Closing time is 5:00 pm.
The path to the water park took us through THE DIG, through a 100-foot tunnel, where we were met with sharks, stingrays, and large fish.
Once outside, we discovered there are eleven pools, seven mega-water slides, and two river rides.
My favorite water activity was The Current — a lazy river with some unexpected twists and turns.
Atlantis Aquaventure is a multi-day experience. To see and do it all, you need to stay on-site for three or four days.
In total, we tried four slides at the waterpark, including The Challenger, where we raced each other without a tube.
The Power Tower
The Power Tower at Aquaventure is a 120-foot tower with four adrenaline-inducing slides: The Abyss, which features a 50-foot near vertical drop and a 200-foot-long body slide; The Drop, a single or double inner tube ride that begins with an ominous “drop” through darkness; The Falls, where you’re propelled through a water roller coaster; and The Surge, an inner tube ride with a drop into a cavern followed by white-water rapids.
The Mayan Temple
The Mayan Temple at Aquaventure features five slides: the five-story corkscrew Serpent Slide; the Jungle Slide, where kids can take a thrilling safari slide through jungles and caves; and two Challenger Slides for challenging friends to a splashdown. Then there’s The Leap of Faith, offering the daring an almost vertical drop of 60 feet—followed by a high-speed ride through a clear acrylic tunnel submerged in a shark-filled lagoon.
Lazy River & The Current
The river rides at Aquaventure are specially designed so you never have to leave the comfort of your inner tube. Everyone in the family will enjoy the relaxing and scenic Lazy River, as you meander around a quarter-mile loop through a tropical landscape—while a more exhilarating journey awaits you on The Current, where you’re propelled along a mile-long river via water escalators, rolling waves and extreme rapids.
Atlantis:
Pools don't start opening until 9/10 am. We grabbed a few spots near the entrance to "The Current". This area has a lot of trees, umbrellas, Riverbend Cafe, washrooms, Towel hut and is a short work to the beach.
All of the Towel huts will have a daily event sheets that list all of the activities going on. An example is there is a movie theatre in the Royal showing 2 or 3 movies until 10/11 pm at night.
Rides:
The Current is a fun ride, it will take you about 30 minutes to complete the rapids. Along the way you can exit and go to "Power Tower" and go down some tube rides. I read several reviews about this ride on how you can get hurt. They were right... I had scratches on my elbows from the rapids. A few years ago they changed the end of the ride, you are now required to get out and walk over the other side to get back in. I agree with this policy because the ride can get busy. At 1 pm we waited maybe 10 minutes to get an inner tube.
Mayan Temple
Leap of Faith, single water slide, this line can get really long, I was able to go down it once. Don't even think about bringing a GoPro with you.
Challenger Slide, which you can race your best friend down a water slide. This ride as well can get busy.
Serpent Slide -- this is the ride that ends up in the square tube that goes through the shark tank. We had done this several times, once we got to see divers walking around. Wait times were 10-15 minutes.
Jungle Slides -- we didn't do these slides, my kids thought they were for babies.
Power Tower
The Drop -- Inner tube ride single or double, second floor not to bad
The Falls-- Inner tube ride single or double, second floor better than the Drop!
The Surge -- Inner tube ride single or double top floor really cool as you go up and down on the ride
The Abyss -- we didn’t do this one, but I was told you end up in cave that has fish tanks all around it.
Side note: at 4:30 the pools start to empty, they close around 6/7.

This was totally awesome, you can get to it on the lower level of the "Royal". You should do the Dig at least twice, once during the day and once at night. Both times it looks totally different! This is a free exhibit, that you explore the very large fish tanks that is on premise. There were to Manta Rays swimming around, these guys might not be there to much longer.
Side note: the Activity Sheet from the towel hut will list when they feed the fish, I think it is daily and well worth the time.
Near the "River Pool" you can feed the Turtles and Stingrays, once again check the Activity Sheet.
Paradise Lagoon has water bikes, paddle boards and snorkeling.
While we were there the ocean was really rough, we headed over to the "Cove Beach". This beach is in a cove and the waves are not that bad, you can snorkel without getting beat up. Stay off the rocks, life guards will come over and ask you to leave.
All of the dining is cash-less you need to use your Room Card or Credit Card. Expect to wait in line for most of the food, average price for food and drink is $15 per person. Cafes have a pretty good fruit/ veggie pack my kids loved. They try to have a variety of food, for lunch we ate at Zero Entry Cart, Riverbend Café, and The Point Restaurant & Bar . This is all pool food which wasn't that bad.
My kids and I did do the Dolphin experience, which was a little pricey and I think we got a dud of a trainer. The group on the other side of us was have a really good time, Oh Well....
Side note WIFI is $30 a day at Harborside, there is no free wifi anywhere at Atlantis. Several places have free wifi, I will list these places.
