Taxis are generally the best and most convenient way to get around New Providence. Fares are determined by zone. The fare is $6 for trips within downtown Nassau and on Paradise Island (which includes the bridge toll), $9 from Paradise Island to downtown, and $18 from Cable Beach to Paradise Island (including toll). Fares are for two passengers;
There are VAN/TAXI'S at the Port Dock exit to Atlantis and Comfort Suites that cost just $5pp. These vans fill up before leaving the dock area.
DO HAVE YOUR AIRPORT SHUTTLE PRE-BOOKED
Listen, the beach is anxiously awaiting your pale self so get that passport stamped and git. Having your airport ⇢ hotel shuttle pre-booked is an easy way to save tons of time at the airport and on the road.
I used Sandra’s Taxi Service and they were waiting right there on the curb just outside the airport doors. It’s like they knew how bad my life was about to need a wine slushy. Actually, since they’d already picked up almost all of the other 23 people in our group (12 of them being children), they honestly did. Glug, glug, glug! Besides being ready and waiting, our driver also got us to Paradise Island via all the traffic-avoiding shortcuts and was a hilarious and informative introduction to the island at that.

Taxi Tour Operators
Here are some well known taxi tour operators in Nassau:
How long does it take to get from the airport to the resort?
The drive from the airport to Harborside at Atlantis is 11 miles. The drive takes about 25-30 minutes.
Is there a shuttle from the resort to the airport?
The resort does not provide a shuttle service. Taxis can be taken from the airport.
(Cheryl's taxi). Picked her as she had great reviews. On the way she stopped at liquor store and Super Value super market for us (extra $10 but totally worth it. Just make sure to check exp dates as we had to throw out $50 worth of food).
They offered ice cold bottles of Cheryl’s homemade Bahama Mamas and bottled water for the kids. Best drinks on the island!! I hope she bottles it and sells it in the states. Cheryl drove us to Atlantis Harborside and made stops at the grocery store and liquor store for the additional agreed upon fees
Our roundtrip fee with a $10 food stop was $86. This is for us and our 3 kids and our few bags of luggage.
We pre-paid $80 for a round trip pickup from the airport to Atlantis with a 20 min. stop at the grocery store and then at the end of our trip back to the airport.
$38 to Paradise Island—plus the bridge toll. Fares are based on two passengers; there is an additional charge for extra passengers and extra luggage.
Sandra Ferguson owner and operator (husband and wife are the drivers)
if you have big family, call lester's suv for taxi. Clean big Lincoln with ac and on time all the time (personable and reliable). Cheryl taxi is more knowledgeable and friendly but she got too big and busy so had to wait a lot. Taxi fare is regulated from airport according to info desk at airport. Mention DavidC to Lester and he will take care of you. Lesswill242 at gmail.com
don't go walking over the harborside bridge at night time toward downtown. Dark and scary... Ok on Coral side bridge as shacks under bridge were still open at 7pm
watch the cab fares. We got taken for a ride, literally and figuratively, the cab fare is supposed to $38 one way to Paradise Island and we were charged $65 there and $58 back. We didn't know better on the way there, and on the way back we didn't pre-negotiate price so the cabbie told us once there that $38 is for only 2 bags and two people and we were a family of four. We were in a rush and did not have it in us to stand and argue so we paid but we know we got taken advantage of. Apparently if you pre-book through the hotel, it is $60 round trip, so do that!
Rides originating and ending in downtown Nassau cost $6 for up to two people; taking a cab to the city center from the airport (or vice-versa) typically costs a flat fee of $22 for two riders.
If you are seeking for reliable transportation from Nassau airport to paradiseisland or anywhere in Nassau call Alicia 242-425-6022 (local number). We paid reasonable rate from and to the airport.
