Manapua Chinatown HNL

https://www.tripadvisor.com/ShowUserReviews-g60982-d434300-r151939527-Royal_Kitchen-Honolulu_Oahu_Hawaii.html
There are 100's of places where one can buy manapua in Honolulu. But the Royal Kitchen reputation is that it has the best manapua bar none! Many varieties available. Once the manapua are gone, they close up shop. Open only during lunch time hours. There are other Chinese noodles/rice/dim sum for sale, so you could actually make yourself a plate lunch and take it to the park or beach to enjoy. There is free parking behind the store. This place is a hole in the wall sort of place but it has been in business for as long as I can remember. So basically, it's the food that will bring you here.

Royal Kitchen is a classic favorite, since the pork is nicely salty-sweet and the bread is soft and sweet. However, the air pocket is always a big disappointment, as you can see. The bao is also smaller than all the others. They get points for being the cheapest, too, at $1.40 each.

I surprised myself when I tallied the scores and Sing Cheong Yuan came out on top. They didn't make the list last time, but since then, Mei Fang has improved the recipes on all of their dim sum. I was a little alarmed at the amount of red dye used, but the flavor of the bun and the filling were very good. (My partner Russ Sumida once inhaled this bao, even though he was full from lunch, because he could smell it.) At $1.60 each, these are also average on pricing.

Alicia's is a mini mart that offers things from beer, snacks, and basic household necessities. Boiled peanuts, soft drinks, chips.
The parking is a hassle, especially during prime time (lunch/after work). But there's street parking everywhere.

It's right next to a laundromat and located inside a grocery store, Alicia's Market.

many shrimp trucks to choose from; we love the famous Giovanni’s or, just as tasty, Honos shrimp truck.
Kahuku is known for a plethora of shrimp trucks, but Giovanni's is by far the most famous
of the more well-known trucks, I enjoyed Romy’s.

, Kahuku aquaculture farms have been raising sweet and tasty shrimp and prawns. Today, various Kahuku shrimp trucks, farms, and food stands serve their buttery, garlicky seafood dishes at their food truck sites and rest stops—freshly cooked and harvested from their own farms—making shrimp a popular and delicious lunch option for visitors to the North Shore

have a bite at the world famous Fumi's Shrimp Shack!

One of my favorite things to do on Oahu was to head to the food trucks on the North shore and grab a plate of garlic prawns or a Mexican feast and watch the sun set over Shark’s Cove.

The best-known shrimp trucks are Giovanni’s Shrimp Truck, one of the island's original shrimp trucks, and Romy’s Kahuku Prawns, which allows diners to see shrimp and prawn farm pools right near the dinning tables. To satisfy your sweet tooth, pay a visit to Mastumoto’s Shave Ice for ice-cold flavored goodness or visit Ted’s Bakeryand have a slice of their famous chocolate and haupia (coconut) pie. You also can’t leave without facing your fear of heights and jumping off the famous Waimea Bay Beach rock.

cute clothing boutiques, souvenir shops and specialty stores, the Haleiwa stretch of Kamehameha Highway is home to some epic shopping.

SEE HONU (SEA TURTLES) AT ALI’I BEACH PARK

“The best place to check out turtles is on the Kaena Point side of Ali'i Beach Park. Forget about "Turtle Beach" at Laniakea. There are ten times more turtles available for viewing right on the beach and from the shore on the far west side of Ali'i Beach Park.”

My favorite spots to hang out with a turtle are Electric Beach and Waimea Bay.
A MUST in Haleiwa is to cool of when legendary shave-ice from either Matsumoto’s or Aoki’s. Shave ice is finely shaved ice covered in homemade tropical juice like pineapple, guava and passion fruit. There are dozens of flavors to choose from and you can get ice-cream or sweet azuki beans on the bottom of the shave ice.
 Saturday Farmers Market in Waialua.
Café Haleiwa in his fan favorite song. But had he tried these, he might’ve ditched his homemade ones. The pancakes at this little funky café are light and fluffy and can be topped with blueberries or, well, more bananas. Breakfast is served Monday through Saturday from 7 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. and all day on Sunday. Oh, and the omelets and coffee are great, too.
While most folks cruising the North Shore stop by the more famous Ted’s Bakery near Sunset Beach for a slice of homemade pie, we suggest heading back to town through Wahiawa and pulling in at Sunny Side Bakery. This smallish, hard-to-find bakery makes some of the best pies we’ve tasted, including a double-crusted banana pie and an ever-popular blueberry cream pie. Slices are about $1.50 each. Trust us, the experience will be priceless.

One of the best spots to get a Haupia Pie after a day of beaching it on the north shore is Ted’s Bakery.

KEN'S FRESH FISH
Ken’s Fresh Fish offers fresh seafood to go, delivered straight from the fishing boat to your plate, with no middle man required. People are known to drive a long way to get the famous katsu fish plates, topped with special sauces and served up with rice and salad.

ALII LUAU PKG  $120    less  $45 EB coupon  +$17EB       around $90

https://www.smartdestinations.com/blog/polynesian-cultural-center-guide/

If you are buying just general admission tickets, then you do not need to book in advance.
If you are getting the Admission/Show package with the free buffet, then no need to book in advance. But you can save 5% by booking in advance online.
If you are booking the Ali'i Luau package or better, it is best to book in advance as the seats for Ha: Breath of Life are reserved & the sooner you book the better your seats will be for Ha.
The Ali'i Luau package is $22 more than the Admission/Show with the free buffet.
Everything is the same between the two packages except:
Ali'i Luau will have entertainment during the 5pm dinner. The entertainment is not too good as the best dances are in the evening show. The food is typical luau food. It comes with a lei greeting and upgraded seats for the evening show. You basically have to think of this package as a $22 upgrade. Is it worth $22?
The Admission/Show/Buffet does not have entertainment during the meal.
Note: If you have an Entertainment Book coupon, you can use it for any package except the one with the free buffet. The coupon is worth $45.
So if you can use the coupon for the Ali'i Luau package & not the other one, it's best to go with the Ali'i Luau package as it ends up the same price for two people.
You have to book in advance if you are using an EB coupon. And you have to tell them you are using the coupon. You don't need to have the coupon when you make reservations. But you will need to present it.
If you go, make sure you stay for the evening show. It is what makes PCC much better than any other luau venue in Hawaii.
All ticket packages include Ha: Breath of life except for the basic Admission only ticket (about $45).

You can only use the coupon if you book directly with PCC.
