Orlando in February--Epcot

We tried using our Interval vacation membership to book Sheraton Vistana Village (SVV) on International Drive in Orlando.

Big snow storm hit the east coast shutting down the DC airport. So we did not fly out on Saturday as planned. We drove down to St. Louis Sunday, and stayed at Hilton Garden Inn using their park n fly package with breakfast. We flew out of STL with snow coming into the afternoon. Flying to Orlando

IAD had been digging out all weekend from Snowmageddon. All flights cancelled, reopened on Monday. We saw them still working on the runways, with some huge diesel snow throwers, throwing a stream of white like 50 yards or more.

Orlando was cooler than normal, but could hit 50's-60 daytime.
Got in to MCO, rented a car, checked into SVV.
All east-west main roads are toll roads.
Got $20 off each Disney ticket for going to timeshare pitch. Went to Publix grocery store, and got some sushi and a beer for dinner.

Tuesday we hit Epcot, taking the resort shuttle to avoid the $14 parking fee. Headed straight for the Soarin' ride. Got our FastPass, then got into line that said 20 min wait. That was a mistake, turned into 50+ minutes. Did Soarin' twice. It's probably the best ride. Epcot shots

Rode on Mission Space, GM test track, Spaceship Earth, Honey I shrunk the Audience.
Mission Space made us nauseous. We also rode that at "half-throttle". It must make a lot of folks sick.

Found the CocaCola refreshment spot with drinks from around the world. The Italian beverly is bitter.

It started raining around noon time, and our shoes got squooshy wet.
So we bailed out of waiting for the fireworks, and took the shuttle back at an earlier time.

Wednesday, we had to go to the timeshare pitch.
Wednesday night we tried dinner at Joe's CrabShack. Amusing, but food is not that great.

Thursday, went to Leu Gardens. Had lunch at a Chinese hole in the wall restaurant. Cozy, but buffet food wasn't that good. Checked out the rec center, played some air hockey and ping pong.

Friday got up at 3am to get ready and get to the airport to catch a 6:30am flight to ORD. Flight got in 30 mins early, and we were able to catch an earlier STL flight.

Got back to Decatur, and there was still a blanket of snow in the driveway. Got the snowthrower out and cleaned it all off.
